We Welcome Our New Pastor Sunday July 2nd

Rev. Robert K. Schneider has been appointed to the Moultonborough United Methodist Church by Bishop Sudarshana Devadhar, Resident Bishop of the New England Conference of the United Methodist Church, effective July 1, 2017.

Pastor Bob and his wife, Linda, grew up in Claremont, NH, but they also have deep roots in   Moultonborough. Bob’s family goes back several generations here; he and Linda own a home off the Neck Road, and are very excited about this appointment.  We at Moultonborough UMC look forward to welcoming them on Sunday, July 2nd.  Pastor Bob will preach at both our 8 and 10 AM services.  A special fellowship hour will follow each service.  We invite everyone in the area to join us.

Pastor Bob served in the Air Force for six years as a lead engineer for the development of stealth technology and then grew and sold a business doing related work.  He answered a call to ordained ministry in 1999, graduating from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., in 2002.  He enjoyed his first appointment at a culturally diverse church in MD and is especially proud of leading their work with the local community and government to create programs for at-risk youth.  He was also very involved with Boy Scouting in Maryland and with his sons’ and daughter’s sport teams.  Bob and Linda decided to move back to NH in 2010, where he was appointed to First UMC in Littleton. During his ministry there, the church started a Respitality Center for caregivers of persons with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, opened an Outreach House, and revived ministries for children and youth. Being very community oriented, he loved the vibrant small-town activities of Littleton, especially the annual ecumenical choir festival and tutoring math at the high school.

Pastor Bob and Linda have three adult children and one grandchild, all residing in Maryland.  Linda is an elementary school teacher who has been in the classroom, a staff development teacher, and most recently a reading specialist.  She is about to sign a contract with a neighboring school district.  It has been Pastor Bob’s fervent prayer and passionate desire to someday pastor our church. We are blessed to welcome him and Linda to Moultonborough UMC.

Summer Fair June 24

Our Summer Fair is to be held on June 24 this year. The hours are from 8AM to 2PM. This year's fair promises to be the biggest yet as several new vendors will be displaying their goods including sports equipment, team sports clothing, candy, quilted items, doll clothes, greeting cards, hand-made quilts and lots of other things.

We will start accepting items on Monday June 19. Please, no electronics including TV's, mattresses and other similar items will not be accepted. The church must dispose of these items at the land fill and is charged according to the town's disposal fee. If you have a lot of items to donate, call Lynn or Paul Worth at 253-9553; we will gladly pick them up.

As usual, many hands make light work and volunteers are needed to set up on Friday, June 23. Tents and tables need to be set up and then taken down following the fair. We borrow tables from the library and these will need to be picked up on Friday the 23rd and returned on Monday the 26th.

The Bake Table will be in need of baked items Please let us know if you can bring in something. For the silent auction church members are requested to donate gift baskets as they normally bid out fast. .
Let's all make this year's fair the best yet!

Altar Guild Plant Booth

We are getting ready for our Plant Booth at the “Annual Summer Fair” on Saturday June 24th. Like last year, we will have an assortment of plants donated by area florists and green houses. If you have extra garden or houseplants that could be donated to the sale, we would appreciate it.

Church Fair – Silent Auction

The Silent Auction portion of our summer Church Fair has consistently made a significant contribution to the Fair’s success. We have found gift baskets to be incredibly successful auction items but we typically only have a couple to auction. We are much in need of auction items this year and we hope to have an array of gift baskets to attract attention and add to the success of the Church Fair. Please consider assembling a gift basket on the theme of your choice … gardening, pet, baking, bar-b-que, cosmetics, layette, Disney, golf…the possibilities are endless and it’s a fun project. Gift cards/certificates are great auction items, too, and we welcome any donation. Please consider supporting the church in this unique manner!
